My name is Kim Hak-je, and I’m head of the Editorial Team at Hubble, which is the science literature imprint of East-Asia Publishing. Hubble was established in 2016 alongside the inaugural Korea Science Literature Award. Since then, we’ve had great success with Kim Choyeop’s If We Can’t Move at the Speed of Light (2019), Cheon Seonran’s A Thousand Blues (2020), and SFnal 2021 (2021). We aim to reach out to a wider readership with a focus on the Korea Science Literature Award and the Transcendence series in the domestic market, and SFnal and the Warp series (forthcoming) in the global market.
Hubble deals exclusively with science fiction. Since overseas readers will take interest in titles that have been popular in Korea, I’d like to introduce If We Can’t Move at the Speed of Light, A Thousand Blues, and Love in the Transcendent World (from the Transcendence series). Launched earlier in 2022, the Transcendence series will publish three or more full-length science fiction titles every year.

안녕하세요, 동아시아 출판사 과학문학 브랜드 허블 편집팀장 김학제입니다. 허블은 2016년 ‘제1회 한국과학문학상’과 함께 론칭했습니다. 2019년엔 김초엽 작가의 『우리가 빛의 속도로 갈 수 없다면』, 2020년엔 천선란 작가의 『천 개의 파랑』으로, 그리고 2021년엔『에스에프널 SFnal 2021』로 독자 여러분께 많은 사랑을 받았습니다. 허블은 국내 SF엔 ‘한국과학문학상’과 ‘초월 시리즈’, 해외 SF엔 ‘에스에프널’과 ‘워프시리즈(미출간)’를 중심 삼아 더 멋진 작품으로 독자분들과 소통하고자 합니다.
허블은 SF 전문 브랜드이기 때문에, SF밖에 없습니다. 아무래도 해외 독자들도 국내 독자들의 반응을 보고서 책을 구매할 가능성이 높으니, 『우리가 빛의 속도로 갈 수 없다면』과 『천 개의 파랑』그리고 올해 초에 출범한 국내 SF 시리즈 『초월』의 『초월하는 세계의 사랑』을 가장 적극적으로 소개하고 싶습니다. 『초월』은 매년 3권 이상씩 장편 SF를 출간할 예정입니다.
