Founded in 1993, Munhakdongne is one of Korea’s leading publishing houses with a history of nearly 30 years. Each year, we publish 400 to 500 titles across all genres. The Mukhakdongne Novel Award and the Munhakdongne New Author Award have served as a gateway for Korea’s top literary voices such as Kim Young-ha, Eun Heekyung, Cheon Myeong-kwan, Kim Un-su, Cho Nam-ju, and Chang Kang-myoung. In addition, the Munhakdongne Young Author Award and the Kim Seungok Literary Award provide support for talented writers’ creative endeavors, while at the same time share excellent Korean literary works with readers worldwide. Based on innovative planning and delicate editing, the 12 imprints of Munhakdongne Publishing Group publish a wide range of books—literature, history, philosophy, business, economics, education, arts, comics, and practical books—that give rise to ripples of change in the hearts of our readers.

At this year’s Online Publishers Roundtable, I’d like to introduce works by some of the rising stars in the Korean literary scene. Given Munhakdongne’s track record of successful sales in Asia, I particularly look forward to sharing Korean books with the English-speaking and European markets.
